Educating children in mixed schools is more beneficial than educating them in separate schools. Do you agree or disagree?

Schooling plays a great role in the development of a child. It is believed that co-education is more advantageous to children than single sex schools. I believe that mixed school system provides a better platform which prepares the pupils to cope up with the challenges in life.

The major reason why I believe co-education is more effective for children is that it is one of the best platforms to boost the level of confidence in them. Confidence is one of the essential characteristics required in a person to overcome the hardships in life. When a child is educated in such schools, it eliminates the fear of interacting with the opposite gender thereby uplifting the confidence in the children. For example, children from mixed schools are more flexible in handling the diversities in life more efficiently than children educated in separate schools.

Another advantage of co-education system is that it helps the children to build a better understanding of the opposite sex. Realization of mutual differences is of immense significance in the personal as well as professional life of a person. There are many occasions where girls and boys have the freedom to express their opinions which will enable them to understand and respect each other better. In addition to this, mixed schooling facilitates gender equality by the provision of equal opportunities to both the sexes which serves as a yardstick for the betterment of the society.

However, a minor concern associated with the mixed schooling is that the chances for deviation from studies due to unwanted relationships are more probable in this case.

In conclusion, it is an undeniable fact that the role of a school in character formation of a child is indispensable. Although there are merits and demerits in both the types of schooling, in my opinion, students acquire better values and skills from co-education system.
